Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) is seeking engineers to apply power system concepts in protection, automation, design, studies, commissioning, security, networking, and project management. You will train customers on automation and protection systems and complete design and testing deliverables with safety and quality in mind.

Requires a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, 2+ years of related experience, knowledge of protection and control, and willingness to travel up to 25%

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
• 2+ years of application experience with electric power systems and related practices.
• Good knowledge of electric power system protection and control, integration and/or automation and communications applications.
• Working knowledge of electric power system design, information technology, and protective relay applications.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally at least 25% based on focus area.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Possesses and applies concepts of power system focus area and related SEL products.
• Train and assist customers with automation and/or protection systems.
• Complete assigned work within scope, schedule and budget to high quality and safety.
• Prepare functional design specifications and maintain design documents and reports.
• Apply SEL Values and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
• Follow and apply focus area practices across projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
