Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. seeks an Electrical Engineer with a power systems focus to apply knowledge to complex assignments and lead in training customers on automation and protection systems.

You will coordinate work within scope, schedule and budget, mentor staff, and contribute to proposals while embracing SEL values and World Class Manufacturing. This role requires travel and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
• 5+ years relevant application experience with electric power systems and focus area practices.
• Knowledge of electric power system protection, control, automation and communications applications.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally at least 25%.
• Strong writing, documentation and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Possess, understand and apply power system focus area knowledge to complete complex assignments.
• Lead in training and assisting customers with automation/protection systems from design to operation.
• Lead in assigning, completing and implementing work within scope, schedule and budget with high quality and safety.
• Assist in identifying, preparing and presenting proposals for SEL equipment, services and systems.
• Mentor and develop professional staff; may supervise as necessary.
• Model, teach and apply SEL Values and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
• Understand. Create. Simplify.
• Other duties as assigned.
