Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) ES Automation Engineer role focuses on planning, designing, testing, and commissioning automation and protection systems for power networks.

You will work with SEL products and related technologies, providing technical training and on-site support to customers across utilities, data centers, industrial plants, and renewables. The position requires at least 2 years of relevant experience, strong communication skills, and willingness to travel up to

Qualifikationen

Minimum of 2+ years experience in automation engineering, design or commissioning.
Strong communication skills for direct customer interaction.
Ability to read electrical one-line diagrams and schematics.
Experience with IEC-61850, DNP, Modbus or similar protocols.
Experience with HMI design tools and PLC programming.
Willing to travel ~20% domestically.

Aufgaben

Apply concepts related to power system automation, protection and control.
Design, configure, validate, install, commission, and support automation and protection systems using SEL products.
Provide technical training and customer support during project execution and operations.
Prepare and maintain engineering deliverables and commissioning documentation.
Collaborate with customers, PMs, and cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
