Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) is seeking a senior electrical engineering professional to apply deep knowledge of electric power systems to complex assignments and customer projects.

You will train customers, design configurations, validate installations, and guide commissioning of automation and protection systems. The role requires 5+ years in the field, strong writing and communication skills, and willingness to travel internationally and domestically at least 25%.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
• 5+ years relevant application experience with electric power systems.
• Knowledge of electric power system protection and control, integration and/or automation and communications applications.
• Proven knowledge of electric power system design, studies, information and communication technology and protective relay applications.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally at least 25%.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills and work cooperatively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Possesses, understands and applies knowledge of power system focus area and SEL products to complete complex assignments.
• Lead in training and assisting customers with design configuration, validation, installation, commissioning and operation of automation and/or protection systems.
• Lead in assigning, completing and implementing work within scope, schedule and budget to high quality and safety standards.
• Assist in identifying, preparing and presenting proposals for SEL equipment, services and systems.
• Mentor and develop staff; may supervise as necessary.
• Model, teach, and apply SEL Values and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
