Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Saint Louis, MO is seeking an Assistant Electrical Engineer to support project teams through concept to design completion, adapting electrical plans to budget and client needs. You will assist with producing drawings for power, process, healthcare, airports and industrial facilities, and help with field inspections and contract administration.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in electrical engineering, internship experience, and strong communication and analytical skills;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Minimum GPA 3.0 strongly preferred.
• Legally authorized to work permanently in the country where this position is located.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Basic CAD/BIM tools include AutoCAD, BIM (Revit, Tekla).
• Strong attention to detail, facilitation, teamwork, organization and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Engineers in Training (EIT) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in electrical design of projects from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Assists with modifying and reviewing production drawings for diverse facilities.
• Assists in designing electrical components per project needs.
• Applies basic electrical engineering concepts, practices, codes, and procedures.
• Assists with research and data collection for project managers.
• Assists with updating drawings in CAD-related software.
• Assists with client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration.
• Assists in field inspections, measurements, or calculations for clients.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
