Ziegler CAT is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support our electric power generation group. You will design and provide technical support for electrical distribution systems and work with sales, service technicians, and customers to deliver reliable power solutions.

Preferred candidates have experience with generator controls, paralleling systems, or switchgear. Travel up to 25% is possible; a bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in electrical engineering are required.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent experience) – Preferably in an engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• PE certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of distributed generation systems, switchgear, controls schemes, and electrical design principles.
• Proficiency with engineering software (AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, MATLAB, or similar).
• Knowledge of electrical codes and industry standards.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Partner with sales teams to review customer requirements and generate technical proposals.
• Provide end‑to‑end engineering support for generator installations—site assessments, electrical evaluations, system layout, and integration with existing infrastructure.
• Recommend equipment (ATS, paralleling gear, switchgear) that meets project specifications.
• Design electrical systems, components, and equipment based on project requirements.
• Create schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Specify materials, components, and electrical equipment.
• Assist in planning and executing electrical engineering projects.
• Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and testing.
• Work closely with the electric power sales team, project management, and our service teams.
• Communicate effectively with vendors, contractors, and consulting engineers.
• Prepare reports, proposals, and presentations as needed.
• Build and strengthen relationships with key clients and vendors in collaboration with other Ziegler sales representatives.
• Learn about CAT products, allied products and comparisons against competitive products in order to offer the best solutions based on customer interests and concerns.
• Travel up to 25% overnight travel.
