Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a Power Systems Engineer—Automation to drive planning, design, development, testing and commissioning of automation projects for electric power systems.

The engineer will configure RTUs, HMI/SCADA, and network setups, providing technical leadership and recommendations across active and future projects, with travel up to 20% domestically and abroad. SEL offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Formación

Understanding of project engineering scope in relation to project budget (labor and equipment).
Professional communication skills to be the direct technical contact for customers and colleagues.
Experience with designing control logic schemes and network configurations.
Experience with server/client SCADA applications.
Familiarity with IT/OT network design and troubleshooting (Wireshark).
Experience with IEC 61131 programming is a plus.

Responsabilidades

Lead projects with PMs and Salesforce in planning applications for customers.
Join customer meetings to provide SEL equipment expertise and recommendations for projects.
Define and oversee execution of multiple objectives with minimal guidance and high-level direction; research SEL and third-party equipment.
Explore OT network solutions, including Layer 1 and Layer 2 architecture and data flow.
Research emerging technologies and trends within and beyond the focus area.
Review and certify deliverables for quality prior to customer submittal (design specs, configurations, test procedures).
Prepare automation design drawings and product configurations for deployment.
Support factory testing procedures and field safety/commissioning activities.
