Job summary

Carter Machinery is seeking a PSD Applications Engineer in Elkridge, Maryland. You will assist consulting engineers, contractors, and end-users in designing power plants and selecting Caterpillar standby power systems, covering mechanical and electrical aspects.

You will use Caterpillar sizing programs to aid designs, read and prepare drawings, and travel to sites as needed. A strong communicator and detail-oriented problem-solver will thrive in our team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a strong communicator with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize deadlines.
• Must be able to train new engineers effectively.
• Must have good attention to detail.
• Ability to perform sizing calculations for breakers, wires, and disconnects.
• Must be able to read drawings and prepare specifications for construction and equipment installation.
• Must be able to read and interpret contract documents.
• Must have an excellent driving record.
• Must be able to travel to various sites.
• Proven ability to understand, interpret and meet complex customer needs through proposal documentation.
• Promote a positive customer experience.
