Job summary

Carter Machinery Co. Inc. in Elkridge, Maryland is seeking a Power Systems Division (PSD) Applications Engineer to support consultants, contractors and end-users in designing power plants that feature Caterpillar standby power systems.

You will assist with project designs and specifications using Caterpillar sizing programs. Requirements include strong communication, ability to manage deadlines, travel to sites, and preparing technical documents.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in electrical power systems.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist consulting engineers, contractors and end-users with power plant designs.
• Assist with project designs and specifications for Caterpillar standby power systems.
• Use Caterpillar sizing programs to aid designs.
• Read and interpret contract documents; prepare and modify specifications.
• Travel to various sites; promote a positive customer experience.
