Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer for Power System Studies (Transmission) with 1–4 years of experience. The role focuses on transmission system design concepts, interconnection studies, and advanced modeling using PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program or country of practice.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience.
• Must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, MVR search).

Responsibilities

• Continues to learn and stays current on departmental design guides, standards, systems, and policies.
• Develops and applies knowledge; supports quality program and continuous improvement.
• Prepares complex engineering deliverables and calculations; selects equipment/materials; manages data and budget/ schedule constraints.
• Assigns tasks to entry level professionals and interns; coordinates with project leadership on less complex projects.
• Interacts with client needs and internal teams; supports business development or pursuit activities.
• Shares current knowledge of latest technology and processes.
• Mentors entry level professionals and interns as skills develop.
