Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Power System Studies Engineer with 5-10 years of experience to join our Power System Studies team. The candidate will work on transmission interconnection studies, reactive power compensation, short-circuit analysis, and EMT modeling using software such as PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, and more.

Office locations vary with project needs. The role requires strong knowledge of NERC standards and regional markets (PJM, ERCOT, MISO), plus scripting (Python) and leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from recognized program.
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• Ability to pass pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex engineering deliverables for power projects.
• Coordinate with internal/external teams on moderately complex projects.
• Support client interests and contribute to pursuit activities.
• Mentor and guide junior staff; provide QA/QC oversight.
