Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Power System Studies Engineer with 5–10 years of experience to join our Power System Studies team. The position involves conducting Transmission System design analyses and coordinating with multiple offices, including Bloomington, MN.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with NERC standards and several modeling tools (PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD) and possess excellent communication skills for client coordination and proposal support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of transmission and system analysis experience.
• Experience with transmission interconnection studies and reactive power.
• Familiarity with NERC reliability standards.
• Proficient in power system modeling software.
• Strong communication and project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering deliverables for complex projects.
• Perform transmission studies and calculations.
• Coordinate with internal and external teams.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to QA/QC.
• Support proposals and project planning.
