Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Power System Studies Engineer with 1-4 years' experience to join our Power System Studies team in Houston and other locations. The role focuses on transmission system analyses, interconnection studies, and model-based studies using PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, and related tools.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor's degree in engineering, 1 year of related work, and familiarity with NERC standards, ISO-ISOs, and scripting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• 1 year of related work experience; 1–4 years preferred.
• Experience with transmission system studies and analyses is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform transmission system studies and analyses as part of the Power System Studies team.
• Support interconnection studies, reactive power, fault analysis, and protective device studies.
• Develop engineering calculations and prepare technical deliverables.
• Coordinate with clients and internal teams to meet project requirements.
• Mentor entry-level professionals as skills grow.
