Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Power System Studies Engineer with 1-4 years’ experience to join our Power System Studies team. The ideal candidate will understand Transmission System design concepts and analyses and use modeling software such as PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, and related tools to support interconnection studies, reactive power compensation, and fault analysis.

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the initial period.

Qualifications

• 1-4 years of experience in Transmission and System Analysis studies.
• Understanding of basic Transmission System design concepts, analyses, calculations.
• Experience with one or more system modeling software (PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, TARA, TSAT, PSAT).
• Familiarity with NERC standards and ISOs such as PJM, ERCOT, MISO, SPP, CAISO, ISO-NE, NYISO.

Responsibilities

• Continues to learn and stay current on departmental design guides, standards, and policies.
• Prepare complex engineering deliverables and calculations, and manage data for engineering work.
• Coordinate with project leadership and team members; provide guidance to others as needed.
• Support client interactions and business development efforts as required.
