Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a Power System Protection Engineer to provide expert technical support and solutions for protection schemes. You will teach, advise, and support customers to ensure reliable and safe power grids.

The role involves applying new technologies, designing demonstrations, and analyzing relay responses to faults, with opportunities to contribute to white papers and application guides.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; master's preferred.
• 5+ years of experience with power system protection and relays.
• Experience with utility/industrial power systems focusing on protection, control, and operations.
• Strong client relationship and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Apply new technologies or solutions to customer power systems.
• Design models or demonstrations to teach customers.
• Support SEL products and troubleshoot to root cause.
• Analyze protective relay responses to faults.
• Teach customers how to use SEL products and relays.
• Contribute to white papers and technical papers.
