Job summary

Black & Veatch seeks an experienced Power System Protection Engineer to join the Protective Relay Settings Team. You will develop protective setpoints, perform relay setting calculations, and work with industry-standard modeling tools across multiple sites in the US.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years in Transmission/Distribution, strong P&C knowledge, and familiarity with ASPEN/CAPE/CYME/ETAP/SKM, plus experience delivering complex engineering deliverables and mentoring colleagues.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in Transmission, Distribution, or Power Generation.
• Strong knowledge of Protection & Control design concepts and relay setting calculations.
• Experience with protective relay settings development and related software.

Responsibilities

• Develop protective setpoints per industry standards and client requirements.
• Work with system modeling software (ASPEN, CAPE, CYME, ETAP, SKM).
• Create downloadable setpoint files on relay platforms (SEL AcSELerator Quickset, GE Enervista).
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with project teams.
