Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an experienced Power System Protection Engineer to join our Protective Relay Settings Team in Irvine, CA. The ideal candidate blends strong Protection & Control knowledge with hands-on experience in relay setting calculations and power system analysis.

You will work with industry-standard software (ASPEN, CAPE, CYME, ETAP, SKM) and develop downloadable setpoint files across multiple relay platforms. Growth and collaboration are central to this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in Transmission, Distribution, or Power Generation.
• Active engineering licensure if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Develop protective setpoints per industry standards.
• Work with system modeling software (ASPEN, CAPE, CYME, ETAP, SKM).
• Develop and manipulate logic for protection and control schemes.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with project teams.
