Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering seeks a Structural Design Engineer to design and analyze structures for power generation projects, ensuring safety, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry standards.

You will work with a growing team, perform calculations, develop drawings, and support EPC contract requirements while coordinating with internal and external partners. This role offers remote-start in Chattanooga with potential hybrid in-office arrangements.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of structural engineering and design experience.
• Experience in power or industrial markets preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs for assigned structures, including analysis and drawings for power projects.
• Apply engineering standards and prepare calculations and specs.
• Meet EPC, RFP, or contract requirements.
• Research new markets and adapt workflows for project delivery.
• Coordinate with cross-discipline teams, vendors, and owners on structural issues.
• Plan, monitor, and update project plans, schedules, and staffing.
• Support managers in achieving department performance goals.
