Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Intern to support our project teams across North America. You’ll learn regulations and guidelines to keep workers safe and help implement the Project Safety Program on active sites.

You will help monitor activities, participate in audits and training, and assist in developing safety policies. The role requires travel to various project sites and a proactive safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements (preferred).
• Experience with Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Travel/relocation as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and overseeing the Project Safety Program and site safety policies.
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Provide corrective action recommendations and assist in safety metrics tracking.
• Participate in safety program audits, coaching, and onsite training.
• Travel and relocation may be required for projects.
