Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Intern to learn and apply safety programs across North America. You will help develop site safety policies, monitor projects for regulatory compliance, and support corrective actions to protect personnel.

The role offers field and office site exposure, relocation opportunities, and a pathway to build experience in construction management while contributing to a culture of safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field of study
• Knowledge of construction safety, current Federal and OSHA requirements preferred
• Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skill
• Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Certification as a Safety Professional or EMT preferred
• Ability to travel and relocate as required

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and overseeing the Project Safety Program
• Review project work plans for accuracy and conformance with standards
• Provide corrective action recommendations and assist in safety audits
• Support onsite training and safety coaching
• Adapt to varying work environments and travel as needed
