Job summary

Reworld is seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead safe, efficient operation of our plant on a rotating 12-hour schedule in Virginia. You will monitor boilers, turbines and the steam system, directing emergencies and coordinating maintenance with a cross-trained team.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will ensure environmental compliance, manage a skilled workforce and uphold safety policies. A strong background in power/processing and relevant licenses is required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED is required.
• 5+ years of experience in power or resource recovery plant operations.
• Engineering degree is desirable; hands-on boiler/electrical generation experience required.
• Must obtain & maintain ASME QRO Provisional & Site-Specific Operators license.
• Knowledge of steam generating power stations and control systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, training, and leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication, problem solving and decision making skills.
• Able to work in 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe and efficient plant operation during a shift.
• Monitor boilers, turbine and steam plant performance.
• Direct or perform required operations during emergencies or unusual events.
• Train and manage a motivated, cross-trained workforce.
• Approve removal of equipment from service and issue safety permits.
• Coordinate maintenance activities and troubleshoot issues.
• Perform shift, daily, weekly and monthly checks.
• Ensure compliance with environmental limits and permits.
