Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to lead an operational shift, ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective unit performance. You will direct personnel, manage resources, and uphold regulatory and environmental standards.

You will drive safety initiatives, develop technical and leadership skills in the team, and coordinate with dispatch, maintenance and other organizations to maintain continuous plant operations.

Qualifications

• Requires strong leadership and people-management capabilities.
• Demonstrates knowledge of power plant systems and operations.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
• Experience supervising bargaining unit employees is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and directs operational shift activities, ensuring safe and cost-effective unit operation.
• Promotes productivity, teamwork and timely decision-making within the area.
• Provides regular performance feedback and develops employees’ technical and leadership skills.
• Ensures safety and environmental compliance and adherence to regulations.
• Coordinates unit operations with dispatch, maintenance and other groups.
• Responds to emergencies and participates in incident investigations when required.
