Lynn Power Plant Operator Essential Responsibilities:
  • Operate all boilers and auxiliaries supporting the entire facility.
  • Support boiler load management and distribution.
  • Report operating conditions and operate under the guidance of the Power Plant Engineer.
  • Maintain proper operating conditions, including boiler pressure, steam temperature, and water levels.
  • Take action in emergencies, report unsafe conditions, and keep the area clean.
  • Monitor alarms and respond appropriately.
  • Test and analyze water characteristics such as sulfate, alkalinity, phosphate, solids, and oxygen.
  • Maintain records and perform water treatment duties.
  • Report unusual conditions and take necessary actions or notify personnel.
  • Comply with all regulations and maintain proper documentation.
  • Understand all power plant systems, including steam, water, condensate, surge tanks, and compressed air lines.
  • Wear proper PPE, keep areas clean, and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Massachusetts First or Second Class Engineer's License.

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Proper PPE usage.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts.
  • Ability to work in high heat and noise areas.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Comfort working in confined spaces, at heights, and on ladders.

Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience as an operating engineer.
  • Knowledge of high-pressure boilers, water softeners, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Computer skills and safety knowledge.
  • Troubleshooting skills.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Final offers are contingent upon obtaining authorization from the U.S. Government if applicable.
