Lynn Power Plant Operator Essential Responsibilities:

  • Operate all boilers and auxiliaries supporting the facility’s power plant.
  • Support boiler load management and distribution.
  • Report operating conditions and operate under the guidance of the Power Plant Engineer.
  • Maintain proper operating conditions, including boiler pressure, steam temperature, and water levels.
  • Take action in emergencies, report unsafe conditions, and keep the area clean.
  • Monitor alarm panels and respond appropriately.
  • Conduct water tests and analyze water characteristics.
  • Maintain records and adjust water treatment as needed.
  • Follow all regulations and maintain logs related to power plant operations.
  • Understand all power plant systems, including steam, water, condensate, surge tanks, and compressed air lines.
  • Wear proper PPE, keep areas clean, and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Massachusetts First or Second Class Engineer’s License.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Proper PPE usage.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts.
  • Ability to work in high heat and noisy environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. with or without accommodations.
  • Comfort working in confined spaces, at heights, and on ladders.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience as an operating engineer.
  • Knowledge of high-pressure boilers, water softeners, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Computer literacy and troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of industrial safety rules.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Final offers depend on obtaining authorization from the U.S. Government for eligible applicants.
