Job summary

EthosEnergy O&M is seeking an Operations and Maintenance Technician - Instrument, Controls, and Electrical for the San Jacinto power plant in Shepherd, TX. You will install, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation and electrical systems, including turbines and related equipment, while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities include diagnosing malfunctions, performing preventative maintenance, coordinating with contractors, and maintaining CMMS records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; further education preferred.
• Associates or bachelor’s in Industrial Electronics or Instrumentation preferred.
• Instrumentation & Electrical schooling is preferred.
• Understanding of 40 CFR Part 75 and Part 60 environmental regulations.
• May be required to operate a forklift.
• Read and follow safety procedures and facility regulations.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs instrument and control system malfunctions (transmitters, PLCs, process loops, sensors).
• Install new electrical equipment as required.
• Use electrical test equipment and tools properly.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance; submit and close work orders.
• Coordinate with outside contractors; initiate purchase orders as needed.
• Maintain 480V and high voltage switchyard electrical systems; supervise contractors as needed.
• Conduct routine generator electrical tests and inspections.
• Operate and maintain a combined cycle power facility with minimal guidance.
• Read meters and gauges to verify operating conditions and record data.
• Keep shift lead informed on conditions and progress.
• Utilize CMMS for data entry and work orders.
• Update drawings and prints; support outage planning and scheduling.
• Perform annual instrument calibrations as part of electrical/instrumentation team.
