Job summary

Luminant Power LLC in Reading, PA seeks a Plant Operator to manage the overall operations of power plant systems from the Control Room. Responsibilities include startup/shutdowns, alarm response, and coordinating maintenance to meet performance and commercial commitments.

The role emphasizes preventive and corrective maintenance, safe operation, and adherence to safety and environmental regulations. Candidates should have 2–4 years’ experience, power plant exposure, and strong troubleshooting

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of related experience.
• Power plant experience preferred.
• Tier 1 job performance measures: Operations, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrument and Controls.
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Demonstrate standard computer based skills.
• Demonstrate effective oral & verbal communications skills.
• Independent knowledge of troubleshooting.
• Ability to work well under pressure and make decisions in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
• Must be a successful candidate on the POSS/MASS program via POSS/MASS testing and communications.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and control the status of all power plant systems from the Control Room.
• Execute plant shutdowns and startups, respond to alarms and equipment issues, coordinate maintenance.
• Promote safe, effective, and reliable plant operations.
• Maintain knowledge of electronic control systems and computers.
• Follow safety and environmental regulations and procedures (Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, PPE).
• Interact with all levels of management professionally and manage vendor/contractor relationships.
