Job summary

TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking motivated Power Plant Technicians to support the safe, reliable operation of a state-of-the-art gas-fired power facility in Hazleton, PA. This role offers growth within a dynamic power generation environment.

Responsibilities include operating from the control room, starting up and shutting down equipment, responding to alarms, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance. You will promote safety and mentor team members as you develop technical expertise.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years of power plant, industrial, or related operations/maintenance experience preferred.
• Must successfully complete the POSS/MASS assessment.
• ability to lift up to 50 pounds and wear PPE.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and control plant systems from the control room.
• Execute plant startups, shutdowns, and equipment switching procedures.
• Respond to alarms, troubleshoot equipment issues, and support system reliability.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance activities while maintaining operational and commercial commitments.
• Develop and follow operating procedures to support safe and efficient plant performance.
• Promote a strong safety culture through LOTO, confined spaces, hot work, electrical safety, PPE requirements, and other safety programs.
• Train and mentor team members while continuing to develop technical expertise.
