Job summary

Bird Electric Enterprises is seeking an experienced lineman for craft-level work on electrical power distribution and transmission systems. You will install, inspect, test, and repair cables, wires, transformers, and related equipment in accordance with plans and safety standards.

The role requires climbing poles, operating bucket trucks, following diagrams, and coordinating with team members on complex projects.

Qualifications

At least 4 years working experience as a lineman or equivalent in industrial construction.
Strong working knowledge of installation or repair of cables or wires used in electrical power or distribution systems and transmission towers and lines.
Must have all necessary tools (see Lineman Tool List).
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Pre-employment onboarding requirements may include background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, inspect, test and repair electrical distribution and transmission systems, including conduits, cables, wires, and related equipment.
Test conductors according to diagrams to identify and prevent incorrect connections.
Climb poles or use bucket trucks to access equipment.
Coordinate work with other crafts and complete safety processes and pre-job planning.
Read and understand plans and specifications including diagrams and schedules.
