Job summary

Dashiell Corporation, an operating unit of Quanta Services, seeks a Civil Engineering Intern to join a project team and support design and engineering tasks. You will work under direct supervision to develop civil and structural drawings, perform basic analyses, and learn industry standards.

Responsibilities include assisting with wind load calculations, applying NESC/IEEE/ANSI/AISC/ACI standards, visiting job sites, and collaborating with engineers to deliver safe, reliable infrastructure

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is required, a power focus is preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related work experience in the power field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with a project team to create or modify civil and structural design documents and drawings under direct supervision.
• Perform engineering support tasks such as wind load calculations and basic structural analysis with minimal supervision.
• Learn and apply engineering standards including NESC, IEEE, ANSI, AISC and ACI.
• Learn to use the document management system effectively.
• Travel to job sites to gain hands-on knowledge and training in substation construction and design.
• Contribute to project-related problem solving and communicate issues to the responsible party.
