Job summary

Dashiell, an operating unit of Quanta Services (trading as PWR), is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to assist with engineering and design duties under close supervision. You will apply civil and structural principles to project drawings and documents within a team setting.

You will learn and apply standards such as NESC, IEEE, ANSI, AISC and ACI, gain hands-on site exposure at substations, and develop proficiency with the document management system while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is required.
• Power focus is preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related work experience in the power field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with a project team to create or modify civil and structural design documents and drawings under direct supervision.
• Perform engineering support tasks such as wind load calculations and structural analysis.
• Learn and apply engineering standards including NESC, IEEE, ANSI, AISC and ACI.
• Learn and proper use the document management system.
• Learn and apply corporate standard engineering practices.
• Spend time at job sites to gain hands-on knowledge and additional training in substation construction and design.
• Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your work.
• Bring potential project-related problems and possible solutions to the attention of the responsible party.
• Travel out of town for short periods of time as required by projects and assignments.
• Perform special projects and complete other duties as assigned or requested.
