Job summary

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, seeks a Service Manager to lead a major maintenance enterprise within the Power/HVAC Division. You’ll hire and motivate a team of Service Technicians and Equipment Associates, maintaining and repairing equipment to ensure safety and readiness for rental.

You’ll work closely with the Branch Manager to build a profitable location through leadership, service quality, and business management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of operations and shop management experience.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; adept with maintenance accounting and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a variety of equipment.
• Motivate, coach and train technicians to meet time & quality standards and follow repair processes.
• Supervise Service Technicians, ensuring safety policies are followed at all times.
• Build strong customer relationships through high quality, timely service.
• Apply United Rentals policies to maximize productivity while maintaining a safe environment.
• Manage shop operating expenses and budgets.
• Lead, plan, measure and improve service and maintenance performance metrics.
• Meet regularly with Branch Managers to discuss problems and solutions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
