Job summary

WSP USA in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a Summer Electrical Engineering Intern (ESSP) to support power delivery projects and SCADA work alongside senior staff. This 12-week program offers exposure to real projects and mentorship through the Developing Professionals Network.

The internship starts May 17, 2027, with possible locations including Maitland, FL; Indian Land, SC; Freeport, ME; and Syracuse, NY. Enrollment in an undergrad/grad program is required.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering undergraduate or related program with graduation date Aug 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the United States at internship start.
• Interest in consulting engineering, electric utility industry, or related field.
• Ability to take direction from leadership and mentors to execute projects.
• Commitment to safety policies and workplace conduct.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Electrical Engineering and power systems.
• Assist with protective relaying, short circuit analysis, and relay settings.
• Contribute to power system planning studies like power flow and voltage stability.
• Develop data acquisition systems, HMI screens, and assist with data transfer commissioning.
