Job summary

WSP USA is offering an Electrical Engineering (ESSP) Intern position as part of the Summer Internship Program. The internship runs 12 weeks, with a start around May 17, 2027, and locations including Ann Arbor, MI, Maitland, FL, Indian Land, SC, Freeport, ME, and Syracuse, NY.

Interns work beside senior staff on real projects, gain mentorship through the Developing Professionals Network, and develop technical, social, and ethical skills in power delivery and SCADA contexts.

Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering undergraduate program with a graduation date Aug 2027 or later.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Interest in electrical engineering, consulting engineering, energy industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineers and non-engineers.
  • Ability to take direction from mentors and managers.
  • Proficient in basic technical writing and common software/tools.
  • Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.
  • Willing to travel occasionally and work in a customer-focused, project-oriented environment.
  • Expected to work from assigned office location at least three days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing electrical studies for utility/industrial projects.
  • Develop and troubleshoot SCADA systems.
  • Support protection coordination and relay settings analysis.
  • Contribute to power system studies like power flow and voltage stability.
  • Assist with data acquisition, HMI screens, and data transfer commissioning.
  • Participate in 12-week internship program starting May 17, 2027.
