WSP USA offers hundreds of internships nationwide, including a Denver-based Electrical Engineering intern role in our Power and Energy team. The 12-week Summer Internship Program starts May 17, 2027, with a focus on electrical studies, SCADA development, and supporting utility-scale projects.

The internship emphasizes hands-on experience, mentorship through the Developing Professionals Network, and exposure to real projects alongside senior staff. No relocation or housing assistance is provided.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an Electrical Engineering undergraduate program with anticipated graduation date Aug 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States at internship start.
• Strong written and verbal communication for engineering audiences.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and work in a project environment.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical studies and development of SCADA systems for clients.
• Support protective relaying, including short circuit analysis and relay settings.
• Contribute to power system planning studies such as power flow and voltage stability.
• Participate in substations grounding, insulation coordination, and power quality analysis.
• Assist with networking and communications for SCADA and protection systems; help with on-site commissioning.
