Job summary

G&W Electric Co seeks a Sales Engineer for Power Grid Automation to drive revenue and market penetration across utilities, industrials, and data centers. You will combine technical depth with business acumen to present tailored MV switchgear solutions, engaging consultants, EPCs, and end users.

The role requires 5+ years in power grid automation or field engineering, strong communication, and the ability to travel up to 50%. A Bachelor’s in engineering is required, MBA is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field is required; MBA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in power grid automation/related fields or field application engineering.
• Proven ability to close technical solution opportunities in customer-facing roles.
• Strong knowledge of MV switchgear, distribution automation, SCADA/ADMS, and protection schemes.
• Experience with DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850, RTUs, IEDs and Ethernet comms desirable.
• Excellent communication skills to present to engineers and executives.

Responsibilities

• Drive revenue by identifying high-value opportunities and executing strategic sales plans.
• Lead account plans for strategic customers and national consultants to grow penetration.
• Own the full engagement cycle from discovery through contract close.
• Engage with consultants, EPCs, contractors, and end users to tailor solutions.
