Hanson Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Power Controls Engineer to design, implement, and integrate control systems and networks for electric power infrastructure projects.

This role focuses on SCADA, substation automation, and coordination with substation, transmission, and distribution teams. The position emphasizes specialized technical depth in controls and communications, not project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or closely related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in power system controls, substation automation, or SCADA within power/utility.
• Experience with substation or transmission projects and power system communication/control systems.
• Working knowledge of SCADA, protective relaying communications, and utility operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and support SCADA, substation automation, and power system communication architectures.
• Develop control and monitoring schemes for coordination between substations and transmission systems.
• Assist with commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting control and communication systems.
• Coordinate with utilities and IT/OT stakeholders on control interfaces and data exchange.
