This role is not a project management position but provides specialized technical depth in controls and communications. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or closely related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in power system controls, substation automation, or SCADA.
• Experience with substation or transmission projects and power system communication and control systems.
• Working knowledge of SCADA, protective relaying communications, and utility operational requirements.
• Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design SCADA, substation automation, and power system communication architectures.
• Develop control schemes coordinating substations, transmission, and operations centers.
• Assist with field device integration: IEDs, RTUs, PLCs, protective relays.
• Support commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of control and comms systems.
• Coordinate with utilities and IT/OT for data exchange.
• Review drawings and specs for proper integration of controls and comms.
