Job summary

Stryker Corporation in Portage, MI is seeking a manufacturing associate for paint and powder processes. The role involves preparing components, inspecting parts, and setting equipment to spec.

You will handle material loading, clean-up, and quality checks while supporting a safe, efficient line. The position requires standing for long periods, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and adherence to shift schedule Sun–Thu with OT.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; manufacturing experience a plus.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Paints and uses powder operations to properly prepare components.
• Unloads parts, part racks, and hooks from the line while visually inspecting completed parts.
• Applies painting and/or powder process in accordance with product specifications.
• Sets paint/powder equipment for proper tolerances, color, and feed rate.
• Responsible for work preparation, clean up, and quality assurance of own work and work area.
• Committed to quality by striving for reliability and quality in our products, continuously searching for ways to enhance performance and meeting all training and documentation criteria.
• Strives for operational excellence by promoting a team-based, product-focused organization, contributing to continuous improvement, participating in preventative maintenance and safety programs, striving for cost reduction, and committing to on-time, complete, and error-free shipments.

Onsite Schedule: Sun – Thurs; 8:45pm – 5:15am, OT required

What you will do

• Paints and uses powder operations to properly prepare components that may include sub-assemblies and all other related components to contribute to completion of a variety of products
• Unloads parts, part racks, and hooks from the line while visually inspecting completed parts
• Applies painting and/or powder process in accordance with product specifications
• Sets paint/powder equipment for proper tolerances, color, and feed rate
• Responsible for work preparation, clean up, and quality assurance of own work and work area
• Committed to quality by striving for reliability and quality in our products, continuously searching for ways to enhance performance and meeting all training and documentation criteria
• Strives for operational excellence by promoting a team-based, product-focused organization, contributing to continuous improvement, participating in preventative maintenance and safety programs, striving for cost reduction, and committing to on-time, complete, and error-free shipments

What you need

• Preferred High School Diploma or GED Manufacturing experience, a plus
• Physical Requirements: Ability to maneuver and lift materials above head, required
• Ability to lift and maneuver up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Ability to work majority of shift standing/walking, required
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, sit, or stand as needed

$20.75/hr + $1.50 Shift Premium, plus bonus potential and benefits. Travel Percentage: 0%

Work Flexibility

• Remote – Role allows you to work the majority to 100% of time from an alternate workplace. These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location.

• Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
