Job summary

ATI Specialty Materials in Monroe, NC offers a 10-week Summer 2027 internship as a Powder Atomization Process Engineering Intern. You'll work with Engineering and Operations teams to improve manufacturing processes and support automation initiatives.

Projects may include barcode scanning for error-proofing, addbacks and dilutions on BOSS at BPO, and melt cleanliness initiatives. You'll gain hands-on experience in powder atomization and process optimization.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
Rising junior or senior preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Interest in manufacturing processes, process improvement, and automation.

Responsibilities

Configure barcode scanning to error-proof the BPO can-up process.
Develop a process to perform addbacks and dilutions on BOSS at BPO.
Support melt cleanliness initiatives.
Analyze process data and manufacturing information to identify opportunities for quality and process improvement.
Partner with Operations and Engineering teams to implement practical process improvements.
