Job summary

Wayne Farms in Tennessee is seeking a Poultry Processing Supervisor for the Retail or Further processing departments to oversee processing lines and personnel, ensuring compliance with HACCP, SSOPs, GMPs, USDA and OSHA while achieving productivity and meeting customer specifications.

The role emphasizes leadership, training, and cross-training, with a focus on safety, quality, and process improvements in a fast-paced, on-site environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Associates degree with relevant coursework preferred
• Minimum 1 year in manufacturing; 3 years in food manufacturing or poultry preferred
• Demonstrated leadership experience including timekeeping, policy adherence and conflict resolution

Responsibilities

• Supervise retail or further processing lines to meet production schedules and budgets
• Deploy and rotate staff to optimize efficiency and ergonomics
• Ensure accurate daily reporting (attendance, yields, etc.)
• Identify opportunities for throughput, waste reduction and product quality improvements
• Lead process improvements and monitor metrics; address unfavorable trends
• Partner with Quality Assurance for food safety and USDA compliance
• Mentor, coach and train employees; provide feedback for improvement
• Administer performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions
• Enforce safety policies and PPE usage
• Collaborate with other departments to meet location goals
• Learn and adhere to current Union contract if applicable
