Job summary

Veolia North America, LLC is seeking a hands-on Water Treatment Plant Operator to manage the operation, routine servicing and care of plant equipment. You will monitor processes, perform tests, maintain records and ensure safe potable water production in accordance with NJ codes and Veolia SOPs.

The role requires strong mechanical and chemical understanding, attention to safety, and the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, regulators and the public.

Qualifications

• Must be able to comprehend both oral and written instructions and to communicate in English.
• Hands-on experience operating advanced water treatment plant facilities.
• Ability to work with a diverse range of responsibilities and shifts.
• Thorough knowledge of water treatment plant operations and safety precautions.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a wide variety of equipment in a water treatment plant.
• Monitor and adjust processes to ensure compliant potable water production.
• Record operations data and prepare routine reports.
• Assist with maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of plant equipment.
• Follow SOPs and safety guidelines, and respond to abnormal conditions promptly.
