Ocean Beach School District seeks a Postsecondary Pathways Advisor to support College and Career Readiness, pre‑employment transition services, and equitable access for students in Ocean Beach and Naselle districts.

The role combines classroom and one‑on‑one guidance, delivering curriculum and programs, and collaborating with community partners. Strong empathy, cultural sensitivity, and commitment to student potential are essential.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience working with high school youth in education, workforce development, or career advising, preferably with special education students.
• Familiarity with postsecondary options, financial aid literacy, career pathways and career development strategies.
• Experience facilitating workshops and meetings and adapting communication to engage diverse groups of students, parents, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement Pre-Employment and Transition Services programming, including career exploration and work readiness training.
• Develop relationships with students and staff to encourage program enrollment and engage local employers and partners.
• Facilitate student workshops aligned to Washington’s High School and Beyond Plan and IEP requirements.
• Track and report student participation and outcomes per grant guidelines.
• Provide individualized and group advising on college admissions, financial aid, scholarships, dual credit, and career pathways.
• Collaborate with school leadership to align advising with school goals and the Pathways Partnership.
• Support students and families in navigating options including 2- and 4-year colleges and apprenticeships.
• Collaborate weekly with eight other College & Career Readiness Advisors and Navigators, in person and remotely.
• Maintain records of advising sessions and outcomes.
• Maintain regular attendance to perform duties.
