Job summary

Virtua Health in Mount Holly, NJ, is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support Post Surgical/Med Surg units. Under the direction of RN/LPN, you assist with activities of daily living, monitor patient comfort and safety, and communicate with the healthcare team and family.

This full-time day shift role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of a PCT/CNA program or RN fundamentals, and BLS certification. The position offers comprehensive benefits and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Requires basic patient care skills and safety procedures.
• Must have strong communication skills.
• BLS certification; phlebotomy training may be required for ED positions.

Responsibilities

• Supports activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, mobility).
• Performs vitals, point of care testing, bladder scanning, Foley care; may perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Identifies changes in patient status and communicates with RN/LPN.
• Reinforces education for patient and family about care needs and safety.
• Participates in patient satisfaction and performance improvement initiatives.
• Assists in orientation of new hires.
