Job summary

9thWay Insignia is seeking a Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer to advance cryptographic modernization and PQC migration for VA COSE programs. You will assess quantum threats, develop migration strategies, and implement algorithms using Python, C++, Java, and quantum frameworks. Occasional on-site work may be required.

This role demands leadership in security standards and close collaboration with government stakeholders and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in a related IT field with strong cryptography/quantum focus.
• Experience in PQC, quantum-resistant algorithms, and cryptographic modernization.
• Proven ability to design and assess cryptographic systems and migration plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance for cryptographic modernization and PQC migration.
• Evaluate quantum-related cybersecurity risks for VA COSE programs.
• Develop cryptographic inventories, migration plans, and timing/priorities.
• Prototype and test quantum algorithms using classical/quantum tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate risk to leadership.
