Job summary

MKS2 Technologies, LLC is seeking a Quantum Computing / Cryptography Engineer to support a federal program focused on cryptographic modernization, PQC initiatives, and migration planning for quantum-resilient standards.

The role requires deep expertise in quantum computing, cryptography, and secure systems, with collaboration across security leadership and technical teams. Remote work with Eastern Time coordination is expected.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of quantum mechanics and information theory.
• Experience with quantum algorithms like Shor’s and Grover’s.
• Proficiency in quantum development platforms and frameworks.
• Knowledge of cryptographic standards and PKI.

Responsibilities

• Lead assessments of cryptographic systems and risks with quantum trends.
• Develop quantum-resilient security strategies and roadmaps.
• Research and implement post-quantum cryptography solutions.
• Advise on quantum computing impacts to enterprise security.
• Inventory assessments and prioritization for modernization.
• Evaluate emerging standards including NIST PQC.
• Design/test cryptographic solutions using simulation tools.
• Guide quantum-safe encryption and key management implementations.
• Collaborate across cybersecurity, engineering, data science, and infra teams.
• Support policy development and governance for cryptographic modernization.
• Prepare reports and risk assessments for government stakeholders.
• Participate in architecture reviews and program management.
