Job summary

POS-MAX in Southern California seeks a reliable POS Installation & IT Support Technician to prepare POS systems in Rancho Cucamonga, install at customer locations, and provide Level 1 support. Youll work MondayFriday, 95, with travel across Southern California for field installs.

You should have hands-on POS installation, configuration, or troubleshooting experience, and be comfortable with Windows PCs, POS hardware, networking, and customer-facing service. Valid drivers license required.

Qualifications

• At least one year of Windows PC troubleshooting experience.
• At least one year of handson POS installation, configuration, integration, or troubleshooting experience.
• Experience installing and troubleshooting computer hardware.
• Basic understanding of networking, IP addresses, routers, and internet connectivity.
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to commute to Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and configure Windows-based POS computers.
• Install and configure POS software.
• Configure barcode scanners, cash drawers, customer displays, and payment terminals.
• Configure network and IP settings.
• Test complete POS systems and credit/debit transactions before deployment.
• Label, document, and prepare equipment for installation.
• Maintain accurate equipment and customer records.
• Travel to customer locations throughout Southern California.
• Install, replace, and upgrade POS systems and peripheral equipment.
• Connect scanners, payment terminals, customer displays, cash drawers, and networking equipment.
• Troubleshoot routers, cabling, IP addresses, Wi-Fi, and internet connectivity.
• Test transactions and all POS functions.
• Train store owners and employees on basic system operation.
• Document completed installations and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and professional installation.
• Provide phone and remote technical support.
• Troubleshoot Windows PCs, POS software, barcode scanners, cash drawers, and payment-terminal communication.
• Diagnose network, IP, router, Wi-Fi, and internet connectivity issues.
• Restart applications, computers, and services when appropriate.
• Use remote-support, monitoring, and ticketing tools.
• Document the problem, troubleshooting steps, and final result.
• Escalate advanced issues when necessary.
