Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Northwest Ports and Maritime team to work on waterfront and transportation projects globally.

You will lead a small team of engineers, perform design, analysis and deliver PS&E packages from concept to completion. You'll apply your knowledge of ASCE, AISC, AASHTO and PIANC codes, mentor staff, coordinate with clients and subconsultants, and help develop innovative marine structures such as piers, wharves and docks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain within one year.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO, ASCE, AISC, ACI, IBS, NDS, PIANC.
• Experience with finite element analysis software (SAP2000, RISA3D, STAAD, LPile).
• Seismic design knowledge including second order analysis.
• Experience drafting details and plan sets in AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and analysis of marine structures (piers, wharves, docks, seawalls).
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications and reports.
• Develop innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges.
• Prepare PS&E packages for clients.
• Conduct site inspections and assess existing marine structures.
• Lead proposals, material takeoffs, and engineer’s cost estimates.
