Job summary

Jacobs' Northwest Ports and Maritime Group seeks a Structural Engineer to lead design and analysis of marine structures such as piers, wharves, docks and seawalls, working with a global multi-disciplinary team on projects from local marinas to international port developments. You will mentor staff engineers and manage full project life cycles from concept to PS&E, with QA/QC support.

Hybrid home/office schedule; location may be in Washington, Oregon, Hawaii or Alaska with travel to project sites

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain within one year.
• BS in Civil or Structural Engineering; MS a plus.
• Experience with structural analysis, design, and marine structures.
• Familiarity with codes (AASHTO, ASCE, AISC, ACI, NDS, PIANC).
• Proficiency in finite element software (SAP2000, RISA3D, STAAD, LPile).
• Seismic design knowledge and second-order analysis.
• Experience with AutoCAD for plans and specs.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and analysis of marine structures (piers, wharves, docks, seawalls).
• Prepare calculations, drawings, specs, and technical reports.
• Develop innovative solutions for complex challenges.
• Prepare PS&E packages for public/private clients.
• Conduct site inspections and assess existing structures.
• Manage proposals, material take offs, and cost estimates.
