Job summary

Jacobs' Ports and Maritime practice is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Northwest group. You will lead design and analysis of marine structures, mentor staff engineers, and deliver projects from concept through PS&E across waterfront and transportation facilities.

You'll coordinate with a global team, perform complex calculations per ASCE, AASHTO and PIANC, and develop proposals, MTOs, and cost estimates while expanding our portfolio in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Hawaii and beyond.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer license or ability within one year (AK, WA, OR, HI preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of codes: AASHTO, ASCE, AISC, ACI, IBS, NDS, PIANC.
• Experience with AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and analysis of marine structures (piers, wharves, docks, seawalls).
• Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
• Develop innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges.
• Prepare comprehensive PS&E packages for public and private clients.
• Conduct site inspections and assess the condition of existing marine structures.
• Lead the preparation of proposals, material take-offs, and engineer's cost estimates.
