Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support population health management, assist during clinical visits, and provide patient self-management coaching under supervision.

The role emphasizes outreach, chart reviews, pre-visit planning, rooming, accurate documentation, and care coordination with nurses and providers to improve access, close gaps in care, and maintain clinic operations while following HIPAA and privacy policies.

Qualifications

• High School / GED or completion of a Medical Assistant Program or LPN License.
• PA LPN licensure or multi-state licensure via eNLC or Medical Assistant Certification.
• 2 years of Medical Assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients with gaps in care and contact them to close gaps.
• Complete pre-visit planning by reviewing charts and data.
• Assist provider by addressing care gaps and activating standing orders.
• Document clinical encounter and assist with order entry under supervision.
• Use motivational interviewing to coach patients toward self-management.
• Review registries and data to close gaps in care.
• Identify high-risk patients and coordinate care referrals.
• Coordinate with care team to improve access and reduce ED visits.
• Sterilize instruments and manage supplies.
• Perform in-house testing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

High School / GED or Medical Assistant Program or LPN License

PA LPN licensure or eNLC or Medical Assistant Certification
